SILVER WEDDING.
Mr and Mrs H. Manhire Entertain. PARTY AT DIXIELAND. To celebrate their silver wedding, Mr and Mrs H. Manhire, Puriri Street, Riccartori, entertained many relatives and friends at a social evening and. dance at Dixieland on Wednesday evening. The hostess received her guests, wearing a frock of mermaid green crepe cotele trimmed with finely pleated ruchings, and pleated frills. She was presented with a posy of pastel shaded flowers by Mrs N. Andrews. Games, competitions and dancing were enjoyed, the music being supplied by Fred Smith’s Orchestra. Messrs R. Lodge and G. Clarke were M.C.’s. A three-tiered cake was cut by the hostess, who was presented with a silver knife by Mr and Mrs J. F. Peters. Musical items were given by Misses Dorothy Manhire, Cara Hall, and Mr W. Lunn, Masters Irvine and Guthrie Downer. Mr W. Lunn was accompanist. A pleasing feature of the evening was the presence of three of the bridesmaids, the best man, the groomsman and the organist who had attended the wedding of the host and hostess.
