Southland Wins Shield in Competition. MEAT IMPRESSES JUDGES. United Press Assn.--—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received March 28, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 27. The New Zealand Meat Board's South Island lamb competition was held at Smithfield, the judges being other meat traders, who were favourably impressed by the fine quality and appearance of the meat. Southland won the shield, with East Southland second and South Canterbury third. The prizes for invidual pens were awarded as follows: Southland 1, East Southland 2, South Canterbury 3.
