RUGBY IN JAPAN.

Possible Visit by N.Z. Varsity Team. The possibility of a visit of a New Zealand University Rugby team to Japan, and of a later visit to this country of a Japanese team was mentioned this morning by Mr J. K. Moloney, who said that the manager of the Australian University team which recently visited Japan had reported on his return that a New Zealand University team would probably be invited to that country. The Australian team made a tour in Japan lasting about eleven weeks, as the guests of the Japanese Rugby Union backed by the Japanese Government. It -was evidence that the Japanese were not altogether novices at the game that they beat the Australians in three of the matches. If a New Zealand team is invited it will probably be picked at the end of the coming football season, and leave for Japan at the end of the year.
