Ranfurly Shield.
It is recorded in the annual report of the New Zealand Rugby Union that the rules governing the Ranfurly Shield competition have received the consideration of the committee. “It is considered,” the report states, “ that the present rules cover all matters necessary for the proper conduct of the competition, but the committee is of opinion that rule 7 should be altered to provide that the expenses of a visiting union which is playing a special challenge match shall be limited to 50 per cent of the net gate.'' Notice of motion has been given accordingly.
