S.M. Finds Firm Guilty of Breach. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. March 21. 'ln a reserved judgment delivered by the Magistrate (Mr E. Page) to-day, it was held that an offer to supply linen glass cloths through a retail soft goods company by Lever Bros. (N.Z.), Ltd., in return for Sunlight soap cartons was a breach of the Trading Coupons Act. A fine of 10s was imposed. Mr Page said that in his Opinion the defendants offered to their customers two alternatives, either the sum of 9d in cash for the redemption of the cartons or a supply of glass cloth said to be worth Is 6d. It seemed that the defendants had agreed to redeem their trading coupons otherwise than for money, and that, in the present case they had. in fact, redeemed coupons not for cash but *by causing to be sent to the purchaser a glass cloth. This action came within the Statute. Security for appeal was fixed.
