ATHLETICS.
Woodward Shines in Hurdles Event. IXTER-CLUB COMPETITION. Ideal weather favoured the resumption of the Canterbury Amateur Athletic Centre’s inter-club scratch competition at the Technical College grounds, Encor’s Road, this afternoon. There was a good muster of athletes from all clubs and the standard of the performances was well up to that of previous meetings. The highlight of the afternoon was L. Woodward’s great performance in the 120yds hurdles when he recorded 15 3-ssec against a light breeze. This was the fastest time recorded in this event in New Zealand this year.
