ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.
Woman Convicted and Discharged. A charge of attempting to commit suicide was laid against Violet Amelia Bam, before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court this morning. The case was first mentioned a week a S°- The accused appeared on remand this morning, and after submissions by her counsel, Mr Twyneham, had been heard, she was convicted and discharged. Senior-Sergeant Fox stated that a remand had been granted on the understanding that the accused wished tC> - a separation. Now she wished to go back to her husband, and he was willing to take her back. Mr Twyneham said that the police evidence would indicate that domestictrouble was the cause of her act. Mrs Bain had confessed to him, however, that at the time she was passing through an experience which was the main cause of her actions. He could not say what it was, but he could assure the Court that it was of a very serious character. The matter was adjusted now and the trouble would not happen again.
