Players Cannot Afford N.Z. Tour. (Received February 5. noon ) SYDNEY, Februarv 5. The " Dailv Telegraph ” says: “ Several withdrawals from the cricket team to visit New Zealand are likely unless the meagre allowance to players is augmented. The players will receive only 15s' a day. compared with the 25s paid to inter-State players. “ The New Zealand tourists will also require extra cricket clothing for the eight weeks’ tour, and there is no special allowance for outfitting. Some of the players with home ties find themselves unable to afford the tour. “The Northern District Club is' inaugurating a testimonial for Chilvers, and perhaps the New' South Wales Cricket Association, which has had its coffers swelled bv the assistance of its three representatives in the team.
