Maurice Chevalier’s Latest Musical Romance.

The irresistible Maurice Chevalier is starred in *‘ The Way to Love,” which began at the Regent Theatre to-day. Music, laughter and romance in the streets of Paris form the theme of this gay picture, in which the debonair Maurice returns to the clothes of a typical Parisian, alter-having worn uniforms and evening dress in his previous films., The story of ** The Way to Love ” tells of a Parisian boy whose main ambition in life is to become a tourist guide, in his beloved city. He meets a girl who has the job of •• tar--Bet a' carnival knife-throwing act, finds out that she is under the cruel domination of her employer, and rescues her. The story goes on to tell of the achievement of his ambitions, the growth of his love for the girl, and of his sorrow when she leaves him. The Way to Love ” is a simple, lovable story of simple, lovable people, which has the appeal of ” Innocents of Paris,” yet sparkles with gay tunes and uproarious comedy. After a period ot more sophisticated films, Maurice returns to the type of role which first made him famous. Once again he sings catchy tunes which picturegoers will remember long after they leave the theatre—” I’m a Lover of Paree ” and “ In a One-room Flat,” among others. Maurice falls in love with a new sweetheart in this show, and Ann's Dvorak is as charming as any of - his previous leading ladies. Comedy is provided by Edward Everett Horton, and a small white dog who answers to the name of Mutt. Box plans at The Bristol.
