Mrs Raines, Invercargill, is spending a short holiday at Sumner. Mr and Mrs D. M’Carthy, Greymouth, have been staj'ing in Blenheim.

Miss Frances Wheeler. Bristol Street is staying at Peel Forest.

Mrs Turnbull, Bury Street. Sumner, will leave shortly for a brief holiday in Dunedin.

Miss Edith Tod, Paprnui, left yesterday for Otira, where she will be the guest of Mrs Owen Williams.

Miss Sally Newton, Ashburton, is the guest cf Mrs Harman Reeves, Dunedin who is staying at Waikouaiti. Mr and Mrs Thomas Woods, Highbank, left for the North Island last evening.

Mrs R. Earl. Christchurch, is the guest of her mother. Mrs James Meehan, Sefton Street, Timaru.

Mr and Mrs A. Owen Wilkin:on and family, Feudal ton, are spending a fortnight’s holiday at Akaroa.

Mr and Mrs Erol Smith, Greymouth are spending the holidays with Mr and Mrs 11. C. Jones, Bury Street, Sumner. The Misses Lucy and Caroline Joseph. Rossall Street, are visiting their sister, Mrs Athol Pierard.

Miss L. Joyce. Salisbury Street, is spending a holiday at Diamond Harbour.

Mrs Mitchell and Miss I. Mitchell, Sumner, will leave this week for Sydney, where they will spend a week or two with friends. Mr and Mrs B. A. Fristick. Christchurch, have been visiting Blenheim.

Mr and Mrs W. Barry, Christchurch, are visiting friends in Blenheim.

Mr and Mrs R. P. Tish, Wellington, who are visiting Mrs J. B. Norris, Fendalton, will leave to-morrow to stay with Miss Tripp, Orari Gorge.

Mr and Mrs R. N. C. Hill and family, Bury Street, Sumner, will spend the New Year holidays at Nelson, where they will be the guests of Mr and Mrs Buchanan.

Miss N. Lloyd, the manager and captain of the Australian tennis team, and the Misses L. Bickerton, N. Hall, O. Yalkenburg and D. Dingle, members of the team, arrived in Christchurch this morning. They will go to Timaru cn Saturday to play exhibition matches in the afternoon, and will return to Christchurch on Sunday. Miss Cora Wilding, “ Townhope,” St Martins, honorary secretary of the Sunlight League, will leave to-morrow for Okains Bay, where the league’s annual health camp will be held. Thirty-two small girl?, who are badly in need_ cf a holiday, will arrive in camp on Wednesday, January 3, and they will be accompanied by Miss Marion Reese, Peter, borough \Street, who will stay to help Miss Wilding. Miss Margaret Anderson’, Armagh Street West, will also leave for Okains Bav to-morrow to assist with the preparations.
