The Minister of Agriculture, Major j W. F. Elliott, has appointed Sir Francis Boys as chairman of a committee to consider the technical requirements of factory abattoirs in the matter of : the processing and handling of meat offals and by-products. Sir Francis Theodore Boys was Lon- j ; don manager of the New Zealand Re- ! frigerating Company, Ltd., during the i war, and, in recognition of his services ! | in connection with the distribution and : I supply of meat during that period, re- i ! ceived a knighthood. Sir Francis was i | keenly interested in the development j ; of civil aviation and for some time was ; i president of the Canterbury Aero Club.
