Pickpockets and Thieves in Sydney. (Special to the " Star/’) SYDNEY, December 17. Owing to the fact that pickpockets and b:gsnatchers have been busy durng the holiday rush, special notices, varning customers to le careful, have Dcen posted in many city .shops. The Commissioner of Police (Mr rhilds l issued a warning to the public, and especially country visitors, to becf bagsnatcherr. luggage thieves, rickpockets and confidence tricksters. “In the approaching holidays, ’ he added. “ many people will leave their homes to visit various parts of the State, and I advise them of the necessity of making arrangements for the Drotection of their hemes during their ibsence. Care should be taken to see ;hat premises are made as secure as >ossible.”
