Increase in Christmas Traffic. A comparison of the Christchurch tramway figures for the past two years shows that there has been a slight increase in the traffic, although this is in part accounted for by the fact that Christmas Day this year fell on a Monday, the first day on which the weekly passes are available, whereas last year the day fell on a Sunday. The cash takings for the four days December 22 to December 26 are:
