Electrocuted When Car Hits Power Pole. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, December 25. A woman and her married son were electrocuted early this evening when a motor-car, containing three adults and three children, collided with an electric power pole on the main road near Winton racecourse. The dead are; Mrs Jukes, sen., aged eighty-three. Henry Jukes, her son, aged fifty-two. Four other occupants of the car, Mrs Jukes, jun , aged about thirt3*. and her three children, Bryan (aged nine months), Ronald (six >’ears) and Vera (eight \ears) were admitted to the hospital, the woman suffering from serious head injuries, and the children from minor hurts. The family resided in Invercargill. A farmer nearby was attracted to the scene b3' screams. He attempted to pull the car back from the pole, but received a severe shock and burns. The car was badly damaged through contact with a live wire.
