General inference—An anti-cyclone extends from northern New Zealand far to the eastwards. A slight westerly depression has been crossing the South Island, and a cyclone is located on the Western Tasman Sea. Forecast—Moderate to strong north to north-west winds of gale force in places. Weather, fair, warm and sultry, but becoming unsettled during the week-end with scattered rain. Seas—Rough offshore.
