TROTTING HANDICAPS.

Regulations Amended by Conference. Certain alterations and additions to the handicapping; regulations have been approved by the New Zealand Trotting Conference. A new clause (2a) has been inserted as follows: “Clauses 1 and 2 shall not apply to horses placed in classic races. In such races any horse placed shall be penalised as though lie had been placed In his correct class. For definition of 4 classic race ’ see Rule 106 of N.Z. Rules of Trotting." Rule 17 to 24 included have been deleted, and the following rules are now Included:— (17) Horses in this section, excepting those on line 32, shall be assessed to marks for one mile, one mile and a quarter and two miles, while handicappers have discretion regarding marks not declared in the assessments. ADDINGTON NOTES. Preparations for Holiday Meetings. Except for a keen wind that blew across Addington, the conditions were suitable for training work this morning. The big track was in good order, and though a little slow for the early workers, provided good going. As usual. J. S. Shaw was the early bird, sending Pageant d’Or away from a barrier start over a mile and a half, which he did nicely in 3min 34see. Going alone and from a fair standing start, Desert Maiden was sent two miles, keeping fairly well out. The first mile took 2min 24 2-ssec, and the full distance 4min 44sec. finishing very well. Gold Country, who has lost all the soreness that was affecting him through a splint, was worked over a mile, which he did nicely. He will be racing at the holiday meetings. Going alone and the reverse way round, Indian Author covered a mile and a half (wide out the first time) in 3min 29sec, finishing on very well. Modern Girl gave Kilblrnie Dan. who was strapped, 2sec and beat him pointless over a mile. Modern Girl went 2min 21sec and did her work well. Wrecker went away two lengths in front of Wilma Dillon, with General Wrack giving Wrecker 8 3-ssec over a mile and a half. Wilma Dillon was in front at the mile and a quarter, and he beat the other pair, who finished on terms, at the wire, going 3min 31sec. the last mile in 2min 3 5 3-ssec and the last half-mile In lmin 6sec. Trotted Well. Chenwood conceded Biddy Parrish several lengths in a work-out over a mile and three-quarters, keeping fairly wide out. Chenwood went the first mile In 2min 18 3-ssec. the mile and a half in 3min 28 2-ssec. and the full distance in 4ifiin ssec. Biddy Parrish trotted well and thej r were on terms at the wire. Going the reverse way. Carl acted as pacemaker for Sunny Ducrow over a mile run in 2min 37sec. On this occasion the latter made only one mistake, just before pulling up. Going alone and keeping wide out. Paul Drusus easily covered a mile and a quarter in 2min 57sec. Ruth Logan, getting Isec start, acted as pacemaker for Morello over a mile and a half, which was run in 3min 33 4-ssec. The latter, going easily at the finish, was on terms with Ruth Logan. Royal Again, going alone, covered a mile and three-quarters in 4min lsec. being assisted over the last three furlongs by Belinda. He went the first mile and a half in 3min 22 l-ssec. Brentlight. assisted bv a stablemate. covered one mile and a half in Srnin 28sec. Don Chenault, assisted by a maiden pacemaker, and keeping wide out, covered a mile and a half in 3min 39sec. He came home the last half-mile in lmin 9sec, finishing very well. Todd Bingen and Tiny Guy went away 4 2-ssec in front of Fairyland in a workout over a mile and a half. With the first mile covered by the pacemakers in 2min 23sec, Fairyland was only two and a half lengths away. She had their measure at the mile and a quarter, and in the run home beat them well, going 3mln 28 l-ssee. Tiny Guy broke just before reaching the wire, after trotting well. Cloudy Range, going unstrapped and keeping fairly wide out, was sent two miles. Covering the first mile in 2min 20 2-ssec and the mile and a half in 3min 28 2-ssec, he reached the post, finishing on nicely, in 4min 36sec. The last mile took 2min 15 3-ssec. David M’Elwyn, who is coming on nicely, gave Blandford and another 3 2-ssec sttfirt over a mile, and was going easily on terms with them at the post to register 2min 17 l-ssec. Ho covered extra ground.
