Methodist Children’s Tea Party. A children’s fancy dress party was held in the Lyttelton Methodist Sunday School last evening. The party was arranged in aid of the combined queens contesting the Queen Carnival The programme included tea, after which games were played. Christmas Fair. A two-days’ Christmas Fair held by the parish of St Saviour’s Church, closed last night. Large crowds patronised the fair and the stalls were de-
pleted of their stock early in the evening. Enjoyable Concert. A most enjoyable concert arranged by Mrs Zander for the Lyttelton Ladies’ Guild was held in the Seamen’s Institute on Thursday evening. The programme consisted of the following items: Pianoforte solos Master D. Zander and Mr Goodman (Rangitane) ; pianoforte duet. Miss and Master Zander: songs, Mrs Davies Miss Mead: dances. Miss Ziska Zander; recitation, Mrs Priddy; violin solo, Mr T. le Budde; instrumental trio, Masters Zander, L. Beaumont and Dowell. Accompanists, Miss and Master Zander At the conclusion the chairman thanked all the performers and extended the
season’s greetings to the men from the Rangitane. Forty-five men were present. Bible Society. At the annual collection in aid of the British and Foreign Bible Society, held in Lyttelton recently, the sum of £2O 6s 9d was raised and handed in to the general secretary in Christchurch. The collectors wish to thank all those w’ho contributed. Personal. Mrs G. Townsend, who has been staying with Mrs A. Anderson, St David Street, has returned to Christchurch.
