“ALL TOO COMMON.”

Bicycle Thief Sent to Prison. “ These bict'cle cases are all too common. You know what you are up against. Two months’ imprisonment, with hard labour.” With these words, the Magistrate. Mr E. D. Mosley, to-day •> sentenced George Beynon Carey, a labourer, 31 years of age, who was charged with stealing a bicycle valued at £5. Sub-Inspector G. B. Edwards said that the bicycle had been left in a right-of-way off Madras Street, and when the owner returned it was missing. Later it was found in the possession of a bicycle mechanic and inquiries showed that it had been stolen. Carey, when interviewed, had admitted the facts and said that he had spent the money on drink. He had been before the Couri previously.

Carey said that drink was hi: trouble.
