FUNDS FOR SCHOOL PICNIC.
At a meeting of Ricearton householders to discuss the. raising of funds for the annual picnic there was a good attendance. Mr W. H. Marsh presided. It was decided to hold an open-air fair at the school on the afternoon and evening of December 16, commencing at 2 o’clock with the annual prize-giviug and concluding with a dance at the school in the evening. A programme, including a fancy dress competition and a bahy show, was drawn up. The following si allholders were appointed: Variety. Mesdames A. Wright and E. Evans (in charge); home-made cakes, Mesdames E. Chaney and W. Sherwood; refreshment room. Mesdames L. Harris, W. Scobie and G. Gawler; soft drinks and ice-cream, Mesdames L. Wootton and W. G. Taylor; produce stall, Messrs W. G. Taylor, W. Wood and Gawler; bran tub, Mr C. C. Harrow to make arrangements; sheep guessing competition, Messrs L. Wootton and E. Evans: games and competitions. Messrs W. Chaney, J. J. Keene, E. Evans and L. Wootton. It was decided to ask the chairman of the Education Board, Mr W. J. Spencer, to open the fair.
