GARDEN PARTY.
Mothers’ Union Members at Hornby. The Hornby and Templeton branches of the Mothers’ Union accepted the invitation of the Prebbleton branch to be present at a garden party in the vicarage grounds. Mrs H. Jones, president of the three branches was hostess, and there was a large number of members. A service was conducted in the church prior to the garden partjG Competitions were held, the winner being Mrs R. Johnson, of Templeton, and the visitors were entertained to afternoon tea. A letter of apology for absence was receivd from Mrs West-Watson. Birthday Party. A party was held on Saturday afternoon at the residence of Mr and Mrs R. S. M'Gregor. Leslie’s Road, Hornby, on the occasion of the tenth birthday of their daughter. Betty. Games and competitions were conducted, the winners being Ngaire Macdonald, Gertie Bainbridge, Gwendoline Hannant and Harry Davis. A cake was decorated with the requisite number of candles. Those present were: Mr and Mrs R. M’Gregor, Mesdames P. Lennox, H. Davis, A. Stutherldge, I. Lennox. J. Marsden. Miss Rene Baker; Betty M’Gregor. Gertie Bainbridge. Ngaiie Macdonald. Estelle Baxter. Gwendoline Hannant, Zara Bnshford, Mona Stutheridge, Cynthia Bainbridge. Harry Davis, John Marsden and Graham Stutherldge.
