FOR KINDERGARTEN FUNDS.
FANCY DRESS PARTY AND FAIR. A combined children’s fancy dress party and fair was held in St George’s Schoolroom on Saturday, to raise funds in aid of the North Lin wood I- ree Kindergarten. Mrs 11. R. Smith and Mrs Wagstaff kindly judged the fancy costumes and awarded prizes to the following:—Kindergarten section —Bobby White (Red Indian) and Lillian Hanks (Duck). Under seven—Allan Broadbelt (Father Christmas) and Daphne Mather (Christmas Tree). Under nine —Noel Wood (Turk), Helen Gabotis (Welsh Girl). Over nine—Max Tompkins (Pierrot), Rona Peters (Granny., “lost original—lrish Shepherd (Victorian Posy), Ivan Olliver (Sandman). Stalls were held by both the Kindergarten and Parents’ Committees. The parents’ committee were in charge of the sweets stall, and the local committee held a cake and produce stall. Two competitions were held, the lucky numbers being 1!) (.shopping bag) and Zl (box sweets). Others present in fancy costume were: Bernice Marriott (Minny Mouse), Ernest Marriott (Micky Mouse), Desmond Collins (Clown), Ivan Olliver (Sandman), Richard Brand (Toy So.dier), Lance Aitken (Indian chief), Robin Aitken (Elf), Dorothy Allen (pink Rose), Betty Gawlor (Party), Ngairie Gawlor (Balloon), Helen Gabetis (Welsh Girl), Audrey C.abetis (Jester), Allan Peters (Cricketer), Russell Roll in son (Com. of Bath), Noeline Bruce (Pink Lady). Daphne Mather (Christmas Tree), George Mather (Father Christmas), Roy Strange (Baker), Peter Musehamp (Palmolive Girl), Noel Musehamp (Robin Hood), Brian Groosman# (Clown), June Dixon (Marigold), Dawn White (Rose), Bob White (Indian), George Fillibert (Cowliov), Morten Powell (Prince), Bernard Powell (Clown), Donald M’Cree (Newspaper). Jef. Pannell (Matchbox), Bis Shepherd (Victorian Posy), Glenice Bradding (Carnival), Patricia Grose (Jockey), Rona Peters (Granny), Nancy Hollo (Fairy), Bob Rollo (Boy Blue), Pat Fa 1 loon (Sailor), Margaret Lake (Hawaiian), Betty Armstrong (Early Victorian), Ngairie Hammond (Beach Girl), Gordon Meluish (Christmas Tree), Noel Wood (Turk), Max Tonipkin (Clown), Meg Gabetis (Japanese Girl). Olive Hanks (Tin Soldier), Jack Broadbelt (Russian), Allan Broadbelt (Father Christmas), Neil Askew (Superstition), Lil.lian Hanks (Duck), David Cooper (Hungarian Gipsy). Fancy dances were given by some of the children, and a gymnasium display by Miss Wilders M’Mullan.
