Fancy Dress Party for Children. TIIE PRIZE-WINNERS. A successful children’s fancy dress party was held at the North Beach School on Saturday afternoon. The party was arranged by Mrs Neil M'Giilivray, who was assisted by the members of the School Committee, their wives and the school staff. The school drill ground provided ideal outdoor accommodation for the party. After the grand marea, a display of folk-dancing was given by the school children, the music being pi ovided by the radio gramophone. The judges of the costumes were the Mayor and Mayoress of New Brighton (Mr E. A. M. Leaver and Miss Leaver), Mr and Mrs W. P. Spencer and Mr and Mrs W. J. Walter. Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P., and Mrs Sullivan were also present. Following the judging of the costumes, afternoon tea and sweets were served to the children. The proceeds of the party will considerably augment the school picnic fund.
