The engagement is announced in the “Evening Post,” of Jean Shand, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Nichol, Kelburn, Wellington, to Arthur Hollier, only son of Mr and Mrs Arthur Payne, St Albans, Christchurch The engagement is announced between Algernon Malcolm Borthwick, elder son of the Hon Algernon and Mrs Borthwick, of Woodcote House, Woodcote, Oxfordshire, and Katherine Wilder, third daughter of Mr and Mrs J. B. Ormond, of Wallingford, Hawke’s Bay.
