THEIR FIRST VOTE.
What Will Spain’s Women Do? VIOLENT ELECTION CAMPAIGN. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received October 27, 11.30 a.m.) LOXDOX 1 , October 26. The Madrid correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says: “Election propaganda is in full swing and is characterised by the usual violence, including stone-throwing and stabbing. The struggle between the Right and the Left is certain to be fierce, but there is a strong feeling that the Right will considerably augment its strength, as Spain is tired of Socialist extremists and the economic disorders, which the illiterate peasants, as well as the moderates and politicians, attribute to the policy of Senor Azana. Uncertainty as to how 6,509,000 women will cast their votes is complicating the issue, as they are quite uneducated politically and yet outnumber the 6,000,000 male voters.”
