Men Ask for Compulsory Conference. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received October 5, noon.) SYDNEY. October 5. An unexpected development occurred in the feilmongers’ 6trike, when, at the request of the men, the Deputy Registrar of the Commonwealth Arbitration Court agreed to summon a compulsory conference of the Board of Reference constituted under the Wool and Basil Workers’ Award, to discuss proposals for a settlement of the dispute.
