French Flyers Hope to Win £BOOO Prize. (Received October 5, 9 a.m.) ORAN, October 4. Attempting to break the long-dis-tance flight record, made by MM. Codoc and Rossi, MM. Assolant and Le Fevre left at 5.45 a.m. hoping to reach Rangoon without a stop. They are carrying 1900 gallons of fuel. Assolant and Le Fevre, who crossed the Atlantic in 1929, are flying in a 650 horse-power Bernard monoplane. They hope to win the Aeronautical Federation’s prize of £BOOO for the longest flight made by January 1. MOLLISONS’ PLANS* TORONTO, October 3. A faint chance remained that the Mollisons would try and taite off on Thursday. It is doubtful whether conditions over the whole 6000 miles will remain as satisfactory as on Tuesday, but the meteorologists said that there was no indication of any drastic change. Their machine is being repaired.
