TO RE REBUILT.
Extensive Building Plan at Belfast. REPLACING FIRE LObo. Extensive additions, alterations and renewals are being made at the Belfast and Fairfield freezing works, which are owned by the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company-, Ltd. Included in the work is the rebuilding of the factory- block at Belfast, which was destroyed byfire last April. The value of this block, before it was destroved, was'estimated at £IO,OOO.
The general manager of the company (Mr D. J. Shea) said this morning that the work was part of the ordinaryannual renewal and reconstruction policy of the company. Some of the work now in hand and projected was being done by the company's own staff and some was being done by Mr \V. Williamson.
It is rinderstooel that the bacon curing, packing and drying rooms, together with the. bacon chiller, beef chiller and small freezing block, which were destroy-ed at Belfast, are to be rebuilt in fire-proof form, while, in addition, a large casings room is also to be built.
The whole of the work will, it is believed, cost several thousand pounds, and will be complete in time for the killing season, which usually commences in December.
