Safety and Efficiency of Planes Increased. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received August 28, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, August 26. A Gloucester firm has solved another major air problem, immensely increasing the safety of aeroplanes and also their efficiency, by perfecting a device automatically varying the pitch of the propeller in flight, eliminating damage to the plane by vibration and enabling landings in a smaller space.
