MR FREEMAN’S MEETINGS.
Mr F. W. Freeman, Coalition candidate, addressed meetings at Teddington and Governor’s Bay on Saturday afternoon. There were good attendances, and at each meeting Mr Freeman was accorded votes of thanks and confidence. Mr E. Gray presided at Teddington, and Mrs Pairman at Governor’s Bay. In the evening, the candidate addressed a large audience in St Saviour’s Schoolroom, West Lyttelton. He received an attentive hearing, but during question time had to withstand a hail of queries. At the conclusion of the meeting, he was accorded a vote of thanks, but another motion of confidence in the Labour candidate was also carried on the voices. The Mavor of Lyttelton (Mr W. T. Lester) was in the chair. Mr Freeman will address electors in the Opawa Methodist Schoolroom at 5.15 this evening. On Wednesday, at S p.m., he will speak in the Lyttelton Oddfellows Hall. The meetings advertised for Wainui and Duvauchelle to-morrow have been postponed.
