Bidding at the first call of the week was rather dull for bank shares, hut there was little change in the other sections. - Mining scrip was in good demand and buyers were prepared to go to 25s for Waihis. with sellers asking threepence more. Under the influence of the pending wool • sales in Sydney Goldsbrough Morts firmed up further with buyers at 28s 2d, while holders raised their limits to 28s 9d. Golden Sands, Ltd., have been advised by the mine manager at Barrytown that the gold return was 540 z for thirty-six shifts. POULTRY AND EGGS. The Canterbury Co-op. Poultry Producers. Ltd., report that supplies of poultry coming to hand for Wednesdav’s and Friday’s sales are being well maintained. There is still, however, a pronounced shortage of good-quality hollers and well-finished chicken. A full attendance of buyers was present at both sales and all lines were readily disposed of at satisfactory prices.
