PIONEER SPORTS CLUB.

Officials Appointed for Motor Trial. At a meeting- of the Motor Committee of the Pioneer Sports Club there were present: Alessrs E. J. Bradshaw (chairman), R. H. Barker. F. P. Sprosen, V. C. Brown, E. H. Buckley, H. S. Butcher, W. Rosengrrave, TV. Lawrence and F. G. Le Vaillant.

The report, of the sub-committee appointed to select a course for the halfday trial to be held on Saturday afternoon, September 9, was presented and adopted, and it was decided that entries should close the previous Tuesday at. 9.30 p.fh. The following officials were appointed to control the trial:—Starters and check stewards at Evans Pass— Messrs Parker and Lawrence; check stewards at Gebbie’s Valley and timekeepers at the finish of the trial, Messrs Bradsh&w, IT. S. and P. J. Butcher; travelling marshal, Mr G. A. Hay man; awards committee. Messrs E. J. Bradshaw, R. JT. Parker, F. p. Sprosen and G. A. Ilayman,

The following were appointed to represent the club at the annual meeting of the South Island Motor Union to be hell on September 29, Messrs E. J. Bradshaw, R. H. Parker, A. P. Jones and F. P. Sprosen. Correspondence was received from Mr F. R. Jones reporting the business that had been transacted at the annual conference of the New Zealand Auto Cycle Union held at Auckland on August 7. at which he had represented the club. From the X.Z.A.C. Union advising that Mr R. H. Parker had been appointed the A.C.U. representative for the Canterbury district for grass track meet-

ings, beach races and reliability runs. The chairman stated that it was the wish of the General Committee that a Social Committee should be set up to foster the social side of the club, and for this purpose it was suggested that two members from each section should constitute the committee. The suggestion was warmly supported by all those present and Messrs V. C. Browne and W. Lawrence were appointed to represent the motor section. Several applications for membership were considered and all were recommended to the General Committee for election.
