OBSTETRICAL HOSPITAL.

Government’* Promise Not Fulfilled. Per Pres» Association. WANGANUI, August 25. A conference of women’s organisations in the Wanganui district to-day voiced a protest against the failure of the Government to fulfil its promise to build an obstetrical training hospital, in spite of the recent intimation by the Minister of Finance that the sum of £500,000 was to be released for the erection of public buildings. The following resolution was carried unanimously:—“That, as workers and subscribers to the obstetrical appeal fund, we would urge that if any public money is expended for building purposes at this time, a grant should be made for a maternity training hospital for the benefit of motherhood throughout the Dominion.”
