REDCLIFFS PRESENTATION.

A pleasing ceremony took place at the Redcliffs School last Monday evening, when a presentation was made to the retiring caretaker, Mrs Pearce. Elocutionary and musical items were given by the senior girls; Miss Pearce, a member of the teaching staff, and Miss Joyce Papps. In making Mrs Pearce a presentation of a fireside chair, Mr E. F. Sandford, a past chairman of the School Committee, referred to Mrs Pearce’s association with the school over a period of seventeen years. Mr D. F. Oldridge, the present chairman of the School Committee, and Mr C. F. Pratt, the head master, also referred to Mrs Pearce’s long period of faithful service. Mr A. Holden, who was responsible for Mrs Pearce’s appointment, returned thanks and said that their guest desired him to express her appreciation of the way in which the successive committees had treated her.
