Woman Who Spent £56,000 in Five Years. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY. July 30. After two years of mystery relating to her financial affairs, Mrs Aimee Belle Edols is now confined in the debtors’ prison for refusing to give information concerning a large sum of money allegedly received from property in Victoria. Accounts filed with the Official Receiver show that not less than £56,000 was received by Mrs Edols between 1926 and 1931, and all of it was spent during that period. Some of the items are as follow: Betting losses, £17,000: dresses, £4000; entertaining at golf clubs, £2000; florists, £400; jewellers, £500; theatre parties. £2000; taxis, £1250; living expenses, £4OOO. Nearly half of the receipts, more than £27.000, came from her husband, who is now himself bankrupt.
