UNWOOD BAPTIST CHURCH.
The Linwjpod Baptist Church Men’s Club has begun its winter session. The opening meeting was addressed by the Rev F. Greenwood, who spoke on Tlie Greatness of Britain.” The election of officers resulted:—Patron, the Rev N. R. Wood; president, Mr J. Wilby; vice-president, Mr J. H. Gluestein: secretary and treasurer, Mr A. Campbell; song leader, Mr H. Wilson. At the monthly church business meeting Mr William Bradshaw was elected a member of the officers’ board and Mr Sussex was appointed leader of the Junior Christian Endeavour, and Messrs Sumers, Smitheram, Pyne and Ellis were elected door stewards. It was decided to hold an evangelistic mission from August 27 to September 10. The Senior Christian Endeavour was addressed recently by Mrs W. Harrington. The Sunday School is in the midst of a new scholar campaign, and to date over thirty new* scholars have been enrolled. The ladies of the church are busy sewing for tlie poor and for a fair to be held in November.
