A CHILLY DAY

The weather in Christchurch to-day was cold and biting. The night was chilly’ and a frost of 3.2 degrees followed. The temperature at noon was 43.8 degrees, with a moderate south-wester-ly' wind. A fairly’ dense fog covered the city from 8 o’clock till 10 o'clock last night. It was not as heavy as many of those in June and caused little inconvenience to traffic.
