FINE DISPLAYS.
New Zealand Shopping Week. COMPETITION ENTRIES. Seventy city and suburban shopkeepers have entered displays in the window competition which is being held as part of the New Zealand Shopping Week campaign. Most of the displays were having the finishing touches placed on them today, and they form the finest exhibition of New Zealand-made' goods seen in Christchurch for many years. The outstanding features of the displays are the quality and finish of the Dominionmade articles. More than one shop has arranged for the illustration of manufacturing goods by arranging for the exhibition of machinery actually making articles. A notable example of this is to be seen at the D.I.C. There are only tw’o entries in the most original window section, but these are worthy of close attention. Messrs Smith and Smith, Ltd., have prepared a huge relief map of the Dominion, with the principal towns marked by electric lamps. The other entry is that of the New Zealand Lace Web Company, the windows showing the articles in the various stages of manufacture. The entries are as follows: Most Original—Smith and Smith, Ltd., New Zealand Lace Web Company, Ltd. *
