VOLUNTEER REUNION.
Forty-two volunteers of the Canterbury Regiment are now formed into an executive to further the idea of a re-union of the First and Second Battalions of the Canterbury Infantry Regiment. Three meetings of the executive have alreadv been held and good progress has been made in the forming of the sub-committees to deal with finance, hall arrangements, printing of tickets, programme and catering. The committee decided that as far as possible the entertainment, which is to be held on May 24, should follow the form of old time gatherings, so once again the old time marching songs will be sung around the cainp fire. The units taking part are: Ist Battalion Staff, City Guards. College Rifles. City Rifles Kaiapoi Rifles, and Cycle Corps, -nd Battalion Staff. Sydenham Rifles, Linwood Rifles, Highland Rifles Civil Service Rifles. Native Rifles, Ellesmere Rifles, Garrison Band, Bearer Corps and Queen’s Cadets. All those who served in infantry volunteer units are asked to get in touch with Captain W. Murphy at King Edward Barracks.
