HOLLYWOOD MONEYLESS.
VANCOUVER, March 7. Hollywood is unable to meet its pay rolls because of the banking holiday
Motion picture executives met to-day in an emergency conference and announced that they contemplated closing altogether. “ Because of the present emergency, studios are considering stopping all their work,” said the spokesman for the heads of six studios. The pay-rolls have so far been met with money from New York, but the Presidential proclamation prevents the sending of money by exchanges. Theatres have been taking in little cash since the establishment of the bank holidays in the various States, for those attending them are giving personal cheques and notes in lieu of money.
