POULTRY SHOW.
Judges Appointed for Annual Fixture. The Christchurch Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Club met on Monday evening, Mr R. Pearce presiding. W. Strange and Co. wrote stating that they had let their building in Manchester Street for twelve months, so that it would not be available for the annual show. It was decided to call a meeting of the Finance Committee to make arrangements for another building. The Canterbury Co-operative Rabbit Breeders’ Association intimated that it would hold its show separately in future. Mr G. V. Foote, secretary for the junior flying race, wrote stating that it would be flown from Oamaru and the entry fee would be 6d a bird. Mr F. Kingsford, of the senior section, stated that the senior race would be flown from Blenheim. Special prizes of one guinea for the senior race and half a guinea for the junior were granted. The secretary of the Christchurch Canary and Cage Bird Club wrote stating that, owing to its requests in regard to entry and prize money not being granted, it had no recommendation to make for judges or the schedule. Members were of opinion that an effort should be made to adjust the grievances. The election of judges for the annual show resulted as follows:—Open classes—Game, Mr F.
