ADDINGTON YARDS.
Export Lamb Schedule Reduced. CATTLE CHEAPER. A fall in the export schedule induced a reduction in the price of lambs, at the weekly market at Addington today. Butchers’ lambs were Is a head cheaper and freezing lambs were about 6d cheaper. Cattle were definitely easier by 10s a head after a dull sale. Store lambs, in sympathy with fat lambs, were each 6d to Is cheaper. The entry of store sheep was about the poorest in quality that has been seen at Addington for a long time, rat Lambs. There was a good yarding of fat lambs, the quality being generally good. The supply of butchers’ lambs was adequate, and they were easier by a shilling a head. Freezers bought keenly, but, although there was a drop, it was not. up to tlie full schedule reduction of a farthing. The sale was steady througli°UScme early sales were: — Pvne, Gould, Guinness, Ltd., sold —On account of D. M’Laughlin (Darfield), 70 at 12s 7d to 33s 3d; W. T. and H. Pat Sheep. There was a good entry of fat sheep, which included a number cf excellent butchers’ lines. Over the early part of the sale heavy sorts were on a par with last week’s rates, but freezingtypes were a little easier. Store Sheep. There was scarcely an empty pen in the store sheep section, the yarding being the biggest of the season. It included several lots of outside sheep, among them a draft of over 3000 from the Marlborough district that had ccme down by road. The yarding as a whole, was far from attractive, the bulk of the ewes being sliabby-looking half-breds in varying condition. The attendance of buyers was rot nearly as big as usual over the early stages, but there was quite a fair demand for useful-looking ewes with fair mouths. There were one or two sales of this class at about Ss, but there were many sheep that brought around 3s to ss. Among them were a couple of drafts of the Marlborough half-breds. one making 5s and the other 4s 4d. They had fair mouths. On© line of over 100 aged ewes brought 5d a head.
