FETE AT PHILLIPSTOWN.
A garden flete was held at the Vicarage grounds at Phillipstown this afternoon in aid of the church funds. The fixture was organised by Mr W. E. Desmond. Music was supplied by Mr F. Thomas’s orchestra and a gymnastic display was given by Mr C. Buekett and his pupils. The fete proved a great attraction. Stallholders were: Sweets, Mrs Harold, Miss Pike, Miss Page, Miss Garrod; cake stall, Mrs Gordon, Mrs Berry, Mrs Bayne; work. Miss Spence, Miss Palmer, Mrs Roberts, Miss M. Craddock: fancy, Mrs W. E. Desmond. Mrs F. Rowley; variety, Mrs J- Macalistor; produce, Mrs C. Joughin, Mrs Godfrey; sewing and fancy work, Mrs Bolt; white elephant stall. Miss M. Oppenheim, Bible Class girls; Sunday School stall, Mrs R. C. Joughin and Sunday School boys; side shows, Mr J. B. Chick; afternoon tea. Mrs Gordon, Mrs J. Ma' 1 - alister. Mrs Chick; gatekeeper, Mr Godfrey. There was a good attendance and splendid business was done. The fete will be continued this evening.
