WOOLSTON SCHOOL.
■The Woolston School Committee met recently. Mr J. Radcliffe presiding. Otliers present were: Messrs Reach, Cater, Sullivan, Smith, Marquet, J. H. Knight (secretary) and the headmaster, Mr M’Keon. The roll number was reported to be: Boys 276, girls 253, total 529. Jt was reported that the following probationary teachers had finished their term of appointment: Mr L. A. Lorrimer and Misses E. R. Lawn and N. K. Thomas. The positions had been filled by Mr W. Paul and Misses E. M. Wright and E. N. Pengelly. It was decided to have the two pianos tuned and put in order. It was resolved to canvass the business premises in the district for funds towards giving the children a. day’s outing in Woolston a special meeting held later it was reported that the canvass for funds for the school picnic had not met with a very good response. It was then decided to hold a concert at an early date in an etndeavour to supplement the money in h&flK.
