RELIABILITY TRIAL.

Course Drawn Up for Light Cars. Following: is the course for the Canterbury Automobile Association's light car reliability trial, to be held on Saturday, March 4:— „ Ueave C.A.A. rooms, 151, Worcester street (time to be advertised later) by ay of Worcester Street, Manchester Avenue to Papanui Road and Main North Hoad. Turn right, follow , sign ‘‘Whiterock’’ to Loburn. Pass "blacksmith’s shop and bowser on left. Keep straight on (do not take road to Ashley Gorge on left). Pass tin shed on left (twenty-eight an ? on to sign directing Whiterock, Okuku Pass” (twentynine and three-quarter miles). Cross bridge over Grey River (thirtyone miles). Keep straight on to Whiterock, cross bridge over Karetu River (thirty-three and a quarter miles). Turn right at sign “Okuku Pass” and keep on to foot of pass. Turn left through gate —sign here “Okuku Pass Four Miles” (thirty-five and a half miles).

Ascend pass, sharp turns and water courses. The top is reached at thirtynine and a half miles. Pass through gate and descend hill, narrow road and water courses, gate at bottom (fortyone and a quarter miles).

Keep on to sheep yards (forty-two and a quarter miles), open gates and continue along flat, watch for bumps. Pass through gate (forty-six miles). Pass sheep yards on left and on over small bridge, up cutting and along flat to gate (forty-seven miles). Sharp turn right, and shortly after take one to left and then two sharp turns right (fifty and a half miles). Bend to left across nat swamp (watch for bumps) through sheep gate (fifty-two and three-quarter miles) and on to gate, then cross Okuku River (fifty-three and a half miles). L?Ji ow across swamp and through gate (fifty-five and a half miles) and over flat to top. Then down grade through gate (fifty-eight miles) to Lees Valley Settlement. Open several gates marked "Public Road.”

Cross river taking lower ford (sixtyfour miles). Pass letter box “Mitchells,” through gate, cross riverbed and shortly after cross bridge over Whistler River (seventy miles). Up cutting, several sharp bends, narrow road, through gate (seventy-one miles) and follow on up the gorge to the top (seventy-four and a half miles).

Continue down gorge to Ashley River bridge, watch for dangerous corners and sharp bends. Cross bridge (seventysix miles). Up cutting, more sharp bends, to top (seventy-eight miles), pass through gate, down cutting, another gate (eighty-one miles) and then through another gate to Main Ashley Gorge-Oxford Road (eighty-two miles). Sign here, “Lees Valley Seventeen Miles.”

Turn left to Ashley Gorge bridge (eighty-four miles). Follow on and cross bridge, through Glentui and Loburn and rejoin road at blacksmith’s shop," and from this corner follow the same road as outward journey through Rangiora (104 miles), Woodend, Kaiapoi and back to Kenhet, Brown and KUhlewhite’s garage, 282, Tuam Street, < in . u hurch (124 miles).
