Championship* Open at Greymouth. (Special to the “ Star."> GREYMOUTH. January 25The weather was fine and warm but overcast for the opening day of the West Coast tennis championships. The concluding stages of the North Island and Wairarapa Association's tennis championships have been reached and matches will be finished to-day. Results:— Men’s Doubles. Semi-final. Hawkesworth and G. Pearce (Otago) beat A'Court and Barrer (Canterbury), 6-1, 6-1. Men's Slagles. Fourth Round. Dowry (Hawke's Bay) beat Barrer (Canterbury), 6-3, 2-6, 7-5. Malfroy heat Ferkins (Wellington), 6-3, 6-2. Semi Final. Court (Hawke’s Bay) beat Coombe (Manawatu). 6-4, 5-7, 6-2. The game between Court and Coombe resolved itself into a hard baseline strugle. Court had the measure of his opponent in the third set. X*4les’ Singles. Miss Howell (Hawke's Bay) defeated Miss Bell (Wellington). 6-3, 6-3. Miss Whyte (Wellington) beat Miss M. Rutherford (Manawatu). 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.
