William Hesselyn*, of Oamaru, a lad sixteen years of age, passed through Ashburton yesterday on a cycling tour. He left Oamaru on December 16, travelling up the east coast of the South Island to Nelson, where he spent some time before beginning the return trip via the Buller Gorge. He has travelled about 1000 miles, and the time occupied in cycling each day was about twelve hours.
