SCHOOL CHANGES.

Protest by Addington Committee. "NOT FAIRLY TREATED.A decision to write to the Minister of Education (Hon R. Masters) protesting against the proposal to transfer Standards V. and VI. at the Addington School to the West Christchurch District High School, was reached at a special meeting last evening of the Addington School Committee. Mr L. B. Sloane presided over a full attendance. It was further resolved to protest to the Education Board against the statement alleged to have been made by Mr S. R. Evison to the effect that the Addington School Committee was responsible for circulating a petition in the West Christchurch District High School district. Commenting on the decision to protest to the Minister, a member of the committee stated this morning that the general impression of the meeting was that Addington had not been treated quite fairly in the matter, and that the proposed re-organisation of the West Christchurch institution would be unique as there was no other school of its kind in New Zealand. It would appear from the latest information to hand that the West Christchurch School was to be an infant school, an intermediate school, and a secondary school. That constituted a more curious combination than was to be found anywhere else in the Dominion.
