MOTOR-CYCLIST KILLED.
Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, December 15. A youth named David James Mears, aged eighteen years, residing at Waitati, died at the hospital this afternoon. He was riding a motor-cycle from Waitati to Dunedin and carrying a pillion passenger, named Frederick Brenssell, aged nineteen, also of Waitati, when the machine collided with a motor-car travelling north. The pair were thrown to the ground, Mears receiving a broken right leg and severe lacerations, while Brenssell suffered a severely-lacerated right hand and arm. They were admitted to the hospital, and Mears died later in the day. Brenssell’s condition is not serious.
