NEW TRACK BUILT.

Railway Engine Marooned on Turntable. When a casting broke on the turntable in the railway yard at Springheld yesterday, an engine was marooned for eight hours. Fortunately the mishap occurred at midnight and the service was not affected. The engine was half turned when the casting broke, and an emergency track had to be built to get it off. A party left Christchurch on receipt of the news and did a smart piece of work to have the track built and the turntable repaired by eight o’clock this morning.
