ROAD FATALITY.
Motorist’s Speed Dangerous to Public. As a sequel to a recent accident in Avhich Mr A. P. de la Cour met his death, Gladys Josephine Gray, of 404, Hereford Street, Linwood, Avas charged to-day before Mr H. P. LaAvry, S.M., Avith driving a car in Bealev Avenue at a speed dangerous to the public. The defendant, through her counsel, pleaded guilty and Avas fined 30s and costs. Sub-Inspector EdAvards said that on May 11, the defendant Avas driving her car along the north side of Bealey Avenue at a speed of 20 to 25 miles per hour. At the corner of Bishop Street she came into collision Avith a bicycle ridden by Mr de la Cour. Apparently the cyclist cut the corner and SAverA’ed into defendant’s car. He died from injuries received. The regulation .speed OA'er the intersection was fifteen miles per hour.
Counsel said that Miss Gray had her car Avell under control. She pulled up in less than the regulation length for a speed of tAventy miles per hour. He mentioned that the question of civil proceedings was under consideration. Altogether Miss Gray had suffered a good deal.
